NSW:Child abuse sites fuelled by Australians

Authorities say Australians participated in child abuse which fuelled an international
network of websites .. selling pay-per-view video and still images of sickening child
pornography.

Detectives from seven countries and Interpol have smashed the 230 websites .. first
set up in the US and then run from eastern Europe.

Having already caught many of those alleged to have run the sites .. they now expect
to begin arresting customers .. having secured their credit card and other personal details.

Federal Police say a few photos have been found that originated in Australia .. identified
by items featured in the backgrounds.

They say no Australian arrests have yet been made.
