SANTA BARBARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 19, 2001
Event To Feature Top Keynotes, Panels and a First-of-its-Kind
Session Pitting .NET Against Java
The California Technology Forum 2001, an executive conference focusing on the convergence of technology, innovation and commerce, has set the speaking lineup for their six conferences that run from July 29 through Aug. 3 at the Fess Parker DoubleTree Resort in Santa Barbara.
Conferences under the California Technology Forum 2001 "umbrella" include The Wireless Technology Conference, The Voice, Video and Data Convergence Conference, The Internet and Network Security Conference, The .NET and Windows Technology Conference, The Business and Technology Conference, and The Object and Components Technology Conference.
The six conferences allow attendees to attend sessions in their primary interest area, and then add complementary conferences if their schedules permit. The overlapping schedule of the Forum promises to provide attendees more interaction, networking, plenary sessions, social events and encounters with local and world technology experts than would be possible with traditional single-track sessions.
Keynote speakers for the California Technology Forum 2001 include:
-- Timothy Chou, president, Oracle.com -- Alan Kay, Disney fellow and vice president of research and development, Walt Disney Imagineering -- Don Box, co-founder, DevelopMentor, a component software think tank -- Stuart McClure, lead author of the best-selling security book, "Hacking Exposed: Network Security Secrets and Solutions" -- Lisa Farr, founder, president and CEO, Occam Networks -- Michael Stal, Director of Distributed Object and Component Computing, Siemen's AG -- Eric Schultz, chairman and CEO, Wireless Knowledge; and -- Bertrand Meyer, a pioneer of modern software engineering now intimately involved with Microsoft's new .NET initiatives.
In addition, a first of its kind special session called "The Great Web Technologies Debate" pundits will "duke it out," facing off to pit Microsoft's .NET against Sun Microsystems' Java-based J2EE.
