A husband faces a felony charge after allegedly shooting his wife's dog in the head, killing the animal.

Daniel T. Moore, 49, of 655 Fillmore Ave., is charged with felony aggravated cruelty to an animal and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, a misdemeanor.

According to Niskayuna police, Moore used a 12-gauge shotgun to shoot and kill his wife's dog while she was at work Friday. The woman came home to find blood in several rooms, and her search led her to find the dog's body in the woods behind the home, said Detective Sgt. Thomas P. Constantine.
